Town Hall 12
Town Hall 12 gives your Town Hall a weapon and gives your army a siege machine workshop. It is also the level where the gap between a well-built base and a rushed one becomes obvious, because the Giga Tesla only earns its keep if the base around it survives long enough to matter.
What actually changes at TH12
The Town Hall itself becomes a defence. Upgrading it is no longer a purely offensive decision that unlocks new buildings — each Giga Tesla level makes the centre of your base meaningfully harder, and its death damage can clean up an attack that was already going badly for the attacker.
The Workshop unlocks and reaches level 3, which means siege machines. This is a real shift: your Clan Castle troops can now arrive where you want them rather than where the base lets them in, and a Log Launcher or Wall Wrecker turns a blocked push into a working one.
Laboratory 10 and Clan Castle 8 arrive together again, and this pairing is worth noticing — it happens at almost every Town Hall from here up, and treating them as a single unit to finish early is the habit that keeps your army ahead of the bases you are attacking.
Upgrade order
Laboratory, Clan Castle and Workshop first — all three make every future attack better and none of them defend anything. Then Army Camps, then heroes continuously in the background, then the Town Hall weapon, then Inferno Towers, then the rest. Walls are the natural filler here: you will have far more resources than builder time.
Army to run
Queen Charge Hybrid remains the workhorse, now with a siege machine behind it. Electro Dragons become genuinely strong at TH12 and are the most forgiving option if your heroes are behind, because the chain lightning does not care much about how well you funnel. Learn to use the Siege Barracks or Log Launcher deliberately rather than sending whatever is cheapest.
How long TH12 takes
Four to six months is a realistic TH12 with five builders. It is a long level and the temptation to move on early is strong — resist it specifically until your Laboratory is finished, because TH13 introduces a defence that punishes under-levelled troops harder than anything before it.
Common mistakes at TH12
- Treating the Giga Tesla as a defence upgrade to postpone. It is one of the highest-value upgrades at the level, but it only works if the surrounding base holds.
- Unlocking the Workshop and then never upgrading it. Siege machine levels matter, and a level 1 siege dies to defences that a level 3 walks through.
- Rushing to TH13 with an unfinished lab. Scattershots punish exactly the mass-troop armies that under-levelled accounts rely on.
